For example, in the introductory chapter, the editors commend Susan Matthews' claim that transgender narratives are used "to escape unhappiness ," and therefore invalid as reliable firsthand experiences, while in the very next paragraph say of Matthews' own transgender experience: "Her chapter about her experience detransitioning from a man reads more like poetry than prose. the 80% desist study), and grossly unaware doublethink.
